The Coronation Theater opened its doors in June 2023; the journey to get here has been in the works for a very long time. Founded by Saurabh Pande, a native Houstonian, his dream has been to have a space of his own to create improvisational theater and sketch comedy. After 18 years of improv, 10 years of dreaming, 2 years of planning, and 6 months of building, Saurabh is ready to open the theater to the Houston community.
The Coronation is located on the east end of Houston. The theater will offer weekly shows, classes, and corporate development workshops. As well as a bar for beer and wine.
A coronation is a celebration, and that's what this theater will be—a celebration of improv. A place where kind creatives can stay curious with their comedy.

What’s In A Name…
“I was sitting at a bar in Montrose working on the early ideas of this theater and what it could be. I had narrowed it down to two names. Vesper and The Coronation—I just couldn’t decide. When looking through the very extensive menu at the bar, I came across a “Coronation”: 2 ounces dry vermouth, 1 ounce fino sherry, 2 dashes maraschino liqueur, and 3 dashes orange bitters. Garnish: lemon twist. I ordered it and drew a circle around The Coronation.
